We hope that shopping with us will be a friendly and enjoyable experience whether it’s for picking up your favourite coffee beans, getting a loaf of freshly made bread from our Bakery for your lunch, getting something tasty for your lunch, buying a present for a friend or stocking up on your store cupboard with quality beans, oats, quinoa and pasta. Our goods will reflect personal taste and we hope you will enjoy them too.

Archipelago Provisions shop interior and grocery box

We have built excellent relationships with small suppliers so we can provide you with the best products for you to enjoy at home. We want to share our knowledge and enthusiasm for our products with you and we want you to feel included by passing on our product knowledge and passing on stories from the farms and small suppliers that we get our supplies from. If there is anything you would like us to stock then we are all ears!

As well as picking up all your grocery supplies, we also offer take-away coffee/tea and drinks and you can get all our lunch products to take-away including our homemade soup, salads, savoury baked goods, our homemade baguettes with our fillings, cakes, Archipelago organic bread, pastries and tray-bakes. Our freezers are stocked with meals already prepped ready for you to pick up and heat up at home or you can freeze for another time when cooking is not an option! Our homemade range is supplied by Secret Baker (my Mum!) and will continue to expand as we grow and we will introduce new ranges on a very regular basis.

Archipelago Provisions strives to be the New Town’s foremost one-stop-fine-food-shop!

Caroline Walsh

Archipelago Bakery set up by Caroline Walsh in 2014

Caroline Walsh set up Archipelago Bakery in 2014. She first operated out of a very, very small underground location which had a bit of cult following by those in the know! After a year she moved to the current location of 39 Dundas Street and now forms a major part of the local community selling organic and handmade loaves every day to the locals and tourists alike. The Bakery is a neighbourhood favourite, not only for the bread, but for our daily soups, vegan and veggie salads and savoury baked goods as well as providing locals with lots of lovely cakes from their best-selling carrot cake to a vegan and sugar/dairy free gooseberry and elderflower cake.

For a number of years Caroline felt there was a real need for a great place to buy fresh groceries, organic fruit and veg and quality provisions whether it’s to fill the store cupboard with some essentials like a decent bottle of olive oil or sherry vinegar or to treat yourself or a friend to a nice bar of chocolate, a bag of coffee beans or loose-leaf tea, a bunch of locally cut flowers, a good wedge of cheese or something for a picnic lunch. Caroline has been passionate about quality products since she was in her twenties and firmly believes that quality over quantity always wins.
